How not to get a ticket by Sydney/7 year old quote of the day!
Today my mom reminded me of something Sydney said nearly 3 years ago. I blogged about having an emergency colostomy here. I have to say my sweet daughter was very supportive as well as grossed out all at the same time. I was driving home from getting my hair cut and I was stopped by our police for speeding. Turns out the speed limit by my house is 30mph not 40mph. Anyway, he didn't give me a ticket just let me know to slow down. Sydney was very upset about it and she said "Mama, you should have just showed him your bag"! I laughed until I nearly peed my pants but she was serious. Out of curiosity, I asked her why she said that and she said "it would gross him out and scare him". Clearly she is related to this little guy! Kids really do say the darnedest things! Hard to believe that I forgot about that until today. Thanks mom...I needed another laugh.

Summer Randomness
The past week has been a whirlwind of activity! Swim team practice every day last week and a swim meet Monday.
Saturday - dinner with family in from San Diego.
Sunday - go to lake with cousins from San Diego.
Monday - swim meet we were there from 2:30 to 8:30 and it was 98 degrees!
Tuesday - swim team practice and begin swimming lessons
Wednesday - Bible study and oops I forgot to do my homework!
All of these pictures have been taken since Sunday...
Coming up in the next few days...hopefully a visit with Coco, grandson Michael's birthday, Father's day, Taryn's birthday, and another swim meet on Monday (one every Monday until mid-July). Plus pool playtime with my brother, his wife Paula and two daughters Charley and Sophie...no wonder we are tired! How is your summer going?

Ladies Summer Bible Study is Here!
One of my favorite things about summer is attending our summer ladies Bible study. This summer our study is Gripped by the Greatness of God by James Macdonald. I have never done a study written by him but I have loved all of the studies on Isaiah. I love the book of Isaiah! Based on the introduction video this study will not disappoint.
Our church also offers childcare and activities for the kids...Sydney loves to go and brought Taryn with her. After church we headed over to visit Mrs. Ribinskaus who was their pre-K teacher many years ago at Westridge Pre-school. The little ones often called her Mr. Biscuits...at least Sydney did...it is a mouthful. Westridge is where Sydney and Taryn met and their friendship began. Mrs. Ribinskaus is now retired and is also a neighbor of ours. She remembers these two vividly and was thrilled with their impromptu visit.
After that, we headed to swim team practice...Go Rockets!

Pictures speak louder than words!
Remember this?
This pink bathroom has been a thorn in our sides since we moved into this house in 1996.
Now it looks like this!
Nothing but studs and pipes baby!
I have pinpointed the source of my daughter's anxiety issues...her dad! He was a tad freaked out when he came home to see this! To clarify, he knew it was coming and we are having Jason, Super Contractor do all of the work, not me and Rick. The cats are fascinated but confused and Belle is relaxing at my mom's house (a.k.a. doggie spa).To be continued...
