Ten years old...where does all the time go? Tonight we are having a little get together with family and friends and a sleep over with Taryn! I have so much to do! I will post about the party and maybe some parties of the past later tonight. Taryn will be spending the night so I'm sure it will be a late one! Happy Birthday sweet Sydney. Seems like yesterday I was counting your age in days, weeks and months. You are such a joy and Daddy and I love you so much!!!

Gratitude and Thanks!
Thanks Dr. Nguyen. If anyone can take the pain out of a ruptured colon this dr. can. He was the on call general surgeon who performed 3 surgeries on me beginning 3 years ago. He is the most family friendly, loving, caring doctor in the world! He was supportive before, during and after my colostomy surgeries. My sweet daughter was very tramatized by the whole incident. When I told him at my first follow up appointment he told his nurse/assistant that he wanted my daughter included in all of my treatment, surgery planning etc. Yes, he knew she was only 7 and it broke his heart that she was so traumatized. So, he took her under his wing and brought her in like I never imagined! Some of her duties included removal of my intubation tube (after 7 days) YUCK! She did say it was gross and removal of 80 something staples between 2 surgeries! He would get her started and then let her do her handy work! He will always hold a special place in my heart for all of the extra time he took with her and joking around he did with her. He will always have a special place in our hearts as will the dozens of health care workers and friends who helped us through this time. He told me what happened is just a matter of luck and I was unlucky to have my colon rupture, but I have to say I felt like the luckiest girl in the world to be in his care. God always goes ahead and prepares the way for us doesn't He?
Sydney and Dr. Nguyen
Her first time to removed staples after my 2nd surgery...he offered the job to my mom after the original surgery but she declined! As you can also tell after this, my belly will never be the same.

End of Swim Team for us!
Yesterday was our last regular meet of the year. Now wins for Sydney but she really enjoyed herself. Saturday is the Championship Meet and she will not get to be there! We just got home from the dr. and she has an ear infection plus a nasty virus that takes about a week to recover from. Disappointing, yes but on the upside I love taking care of my sweet pea when she is sick!

Police Chase Excitement!
My husband always manages to be were the action is! A few weeks ago it was a naked guy near downtown Fort Worth threatening to jump from a billboard took hours and tied up traffic forever, today there was a police chase in our neighborhood! We were standing in the driveway when a guy in a truck comes plowing through the cemetary at the end of our block nearly hitting a the groundskeeper who was weedeating at the time then bounces over the curb and takes out a couple of lightpoles. Of course he jumped in the car and took off (after 25 years he doesn't even have to tell me what he is doing). Long story short the guy being chased had stolen a truck over by the car wash and was breaking into houses in our neighborhood. We live in a very small town on the edge for Fort Worth and we have an awsome police force mostly comprised of rednecks.
The chase ended a couple of blocks away when the guy crashed the stolen Ford F350 into a house. Luckily, we live in a neighborhood where the houses were built in the late '50s and early 60s and they don't build them like that anymore. Here is the proof!
This bad boy crashed into this house and moved the wall from front to back of the house about 3 feet
and didn't knock it down!
The truck didn't fair so well!
Spent the morning texting blow by blows to Coco who is related to my hubs...
an upteenth cousin...anyway she loves excitement as well as the next person!
I really want need a police radio!
